Abstract

Teaching and learning management must be aligned with the growth of technology in digital age. A teacher's ability to apply a 21st century learning methods in a local learning environment will be the key factor in determining the effectiveness process of imparting knowledge. This research was done for the purpose of exploring the teaching and learning management of indigenous creativity in enhancing pre-school children’s intelligence. Data collection was conducted through interviews which involves lecturer of indigenous people, lecturers of preschool, lecturer of early childhood education and indigenous activist. The finding of this study shows that the indigenous creativity that is suitable to be incorporated in teaching and learning management is the culture and heritage, arts and crafts, folklore, "Sewang" songs, medicinal herbs and day-to-day equipment’s. In addition, the result also shows the most suitable method to be implemented by a teacher in teaching and learning is through acting, stories, songs and relationship with nature. The implication of this research shows that teaching and learning through indigenous creativity is capable of indirectly attracting indigenous children to school.
