Abstract

This paper discusses the relationship between teaching and learning quality supervision and teacher’s self-efficacy. The study involved 210 teachers from seven missionary schools around Penang whom their teaching and learning activities have been observed by the principal or his representative. This research used descriptive test to investigate the level of each variable of the study. The study reported that the quality of teaching and learning supervision is of high quality. Teachers’ self-efficacy is also at high level. T-test for independent samples was used to measure the mean difference of the three variables studied based on gender. The study reported that there were significant differences in the mean of teachers’ self-efficacy between male and female. Correlation test used to determine the relationship between independent variable with the dependent variable. The study reported that there is a very weak positive correlation between the quality of teaching supervision and self-efficacy of teachers. In conclusion, if the supervision of teaching and learning is of high quality, teachers' self-efficacy could be improved.
