Abstract

This research talks about the efforts of Imam Yahya bin Abi al-Khair alOmrani in defending the creed of the Sunnis, and the importance of this study came up because of the imam’s fame and his scholarly position among the scholars of the Islamic Ummah, and his confrontation with the Mu'tazila and Shi’ites in Yemen. Therefore, he has a favor upon us for preserving the creed of Sunnis in Yemen in the sixth century AH, the research aims to introduce Imam Ibn Abi al-Khair al-Omrani and his book on the creed, as well as the issues that he defended and clarifying the falseness of the creed of those who deviated from it, such as Mu'tazila alQadariyah, Zaydi and other deviant sects. The method used in this research is the inductive approach in which the researcher followed the sayings of Imam bin Abi al-Khair in matters of belief, the research came in three sections, the first one: introducing the imam and his concern about preserving the monotheism, the second one: his defense of the creed and his reply to Mu'tazila and Qadariyya, and the third one: The most famous doctrinal issues that he defended, then the research ended with a conclusion which includes the results of the research.
