Abstract

A positive school climate can contribute to the wellbeing of students who have a balance between physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual aspects. This study was conducted to explore the implementation of school climate through the research question of how students perform daily routines in the Johor State Sports School. This study was conducted using qualitative research methods of case study. A total of 10 informants consisting of student-athletes, teachers and principals were involved in this study. Data were collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and data triangulation was supported through participatory observations, document analysis as well as field notes. As a result of the influence of the school climate on student-athletes, the study found that two main themes emerged. The first is to make the Johor State Sports School the school of choice because there are elements that strengthen spiritual learning. The second is to produce ideal students by shaping morals and student-athletes, producing students who care about mutual welfare, independent students, and leaders. The implications of this study are expected to be used as a guide and encouragement to the school, principals, teachers and MOE, especially in building a conducive and positive school environment.
