Abstract

Coaching is a process of opening a key potential leader. High potential leaders can lead an outstanding organization by maximizing their leadership performance. This study aims to investigate the impact of knowledge, skills and behavior dimensions in the coaching of the School Improvement Partner on Leadership Leadership Competency. This quantitative study is carried out using a survey method. The data were collected from 226 school leaders in Sarawak. Principal Questionnaire and Principal Leadership Questionnaire were used as an instrument to collect study data. Data analysis was analyzed using SPSS. The study shows that knowledge dimensions improve leadership competence with beta values ​​of .205, and significant [t = 2.313, p <0.05]. While skill dimensions are not significant [t = 1.441, p> 0.05]. The study also showed that the dimensions of behavior were not significant [t = 1.415, p> 0.05] towards competence leadership. This explains that the knowledge dimension of the School Improvement Partner in the coaching contributes to the improvement of leadership skills of school leaders. The results of this study are expected to provide a review of the Ministry of Education to further enhance the coaching of the School Improvement Partner. Therefore, School Improvement Partner have high privileges to provide effective coaching in producing high performing school leaders in parallel with the fifth shift in PPPM 2013-2025.
