The Online Journal of Research in Islamic Studies (RIS) is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal published twice a year by the Academy of Islamic Studies, Universiti Malaya, Malaysia. RIS covers a wide range of interdisciplinary topics in Islamic studies, including scientific research, technological advancements, historical and geographical studies, philosophical inquiries, legal perspectives, educational practices, environmental concerns, sociological studies, and ethical issues related to Islam. Prior to 2022, the journal was published three times a year.

The Volume 7 No. 1 of RIS was available online from 30 April 2020. This issue has been available online for 5 accepted papers. All articles in this issue were authored by 15 authors from Malaysia.
