PEMBANGUNAN ATRIBUT KEUSAHAWANAN DALAM KALANGAN PELAJAR KOLEJ VOKASIONAL KPM: SASARAN DAN STRATEGI PELAKSANAAN

Entrepreneurship plays an important role in the education system and skills training, especially in vocational colleges. Entrepreneurial attributes intended in the implementation of Vocational Education Transformation in vocational colleges. However, a clear understanding of the strategies implemented in vocational colleges has not been much studied. Therefore, this study aims to explore the entrepreneurial attributes that are intended to be created among vocational college students. In addition, a description and explanation of the strategies implemented by the vocational colleges studied to give an overview of the implementation of entrepreneurial elements in vocational colleges. To collect data, qualitative case studies of multiple case studies are used as research methods. Three vocational colleges were selected based on the criteria set as the unit of study analysis. Data collection methods are by using semi-structured interview methods, focused discussion groups, observation and analysis of documents and field notes. The findings show that there are three categories of entrepreneurial attributes intended in the implementation of Vocational Education Transformation, namely in terms of entrepreneurial behavior, attitude towards entrepreneurship and entrepreneurial thinking. The findings also show that they have been implemented by vocational colleges that are studied to develop entrepreneurial attributes as intended in the Transformation of Vocational Education in KPM vocational colleges. With these findings, the policy makers and the planners can plan the conducive entrepreneurial ecosystem to develop student’s entrepreneurship attributes which can contribute to the Malaysian economic growth.
