Abstract

STEM education has become a crucial part of the education revolution and is transforming how we learn and prepare for the future. This article aims to delve into school leaders' perceptions regarding STEM education. It is widely understood that strengthening STEM education is essential for the progress and development of the nation. It equips students with crucial skills and knowledge that can help them excel in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. STEM education fosters critical thinking, problem-solving, and collaboration skills vital for success in the modern world. To achieve the purpose of the study, a qualitative method was implemented by collecting data through online interviews among seven principals. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis method. The researcher provides codes for the selected data through thematic analysis and then produces themes. There are three main findings related to school leaders' perceptions of STEM education which are a) having limited knowledge, b) displaying an eagerness to broaden knowledge of STEM education., and c) taking the lead in advocating STEM education. The results of this research make a valuable addition to the current literature on STEM leadership and education.
